Gudrun Kemsa – Urban Stage https://ars.electronica.art/repair/en/2010/08/16/gudrun-kemsa-urban-stage-landesgalerie/ Mon, 16 Aug 2010 14:59:52 +0000 https://ars.electronica.art/repair/?p=1482 2. 9. – 31. 10. Landesgalerie
Opening 1. 9. 19:00

Gudrun Kemsa has conceived her first one-woman show at an Austrian museum as a special compilation of selected photographic works and a video installation. In them, she repeatedly focuses her attention on the relationship between human beings and architectural situations. She cinematically scans and scrutinizes landscapes and public—primarily urban—spaces. The conception and effect of her works are intensively connected with the aspect of movement. Gudrun Kemsa succeeds in letting time become visible, in making space and time relative and reversible. Also see showing in Deep Space.

About the artist:
Gudrun Kemsa (DE) is professor of cinema and photography at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld. She lives and works in Düsseldorf.
