Animation Festival – Introduction

This year’s Animation Festival program will once again include screenings of selected short films honored by the Prix in recent years. For a foretaste of the great stuff we have lined up, check out these shorts, all singled out for recognition by the 2011 Prix Ars Electronica.

Kicking things off is this year’s Golden Nica recipient, Alessandro Bavari’s “Metachaos.” Click here to see the film and what the Prix Jury had to say about it: http://prix.aec.at/winner/1631/

Anybody who likes computer games, South Park and a big helping of offbeat humor is sure to enjoy David O’Reilly’s work “The External World.” Here, the Prix jury’s comments and the film:http://prix.aec.at/winner/1704/

Things proceed much more tranquilly in Alex Roman’s “The Third and The Seventh” an incredibly aesthetic film that impresses viewers with its true-to-life details and realistic atmosphere. Oh yeah: and with the fact that the whole thing was produced by computer. Prix commentary and film: http://prix.aec.at/winner/3023/
