Future Models for Transdisciplinary Education

SAT Sept. 9, 2017, 11:00 AM-noon, POSTCITY Lecture Stage

QUT Vice Chancellor and honorary guest, Professor Peter Coaldrake, presents his view about the current state and future of tertiary education in Australia and in reference to his recent book: Raising the Stakes: Gambling with the Future of Universities, by Peter Coaldrake and Lawrence Stedman and also in reference to QUT’s established partnership with Ars Electronica since 2013.

Ars Electronica Futurelab Director, Horst Hörtner, will present his view on the future of tertiary education and the Futurelabs partnered education activities internationally and, in particularly, Australia. He will raise the importance of the education platform we have established with QUT and also contextualise the intention to roll the Academy model out across several other universities in Australia, and in partnership with QUT. The Academy platform, and growing a consortium of University partners, will form the framework of a much larger vision for Ars Electronica in Australia….also to be announced at this event.

This Ars Electronica event is open to all festival public and will be attended by Australian and international diplomats, many Australian artists, Ars Electronica partners and many of the students and staff from the other 13 international campuses at Ars Electronica this year.
