greetings to meme enthusiasts and skeptics both
I admit to suffering from a bit of confusion about the focus of
this discussion, so I'll begin with a position statement.
Our self conception is wrapped around whatever is in fashion, we
structure our language around what is currently known and comprehensible
to us. Whether memes actually exist or not is less important than the
good stretch our minds will receive from considering the possibility. I
don't think memes (if they exist) threaten our humaness, I am most
interested in how we humans can make them our allies and symbiotic
partners. I believe we share a connection with a core consciousness (spirit)
which is out there observing the virulent living ideas (occasionally
embodied in flesh, newsprint, silicon, phosphor dots) running amock,
playing and fighting for survival. By recognizing and excersising this
shared connection we sustain what is important, essential, and benevolent
about us, despite whatever infections might occur.
Does this make any sense to anyone else?
