Hello,

On April 28 I have learned that my paper,
A_ _R_e_g_e_n_e_r_a_t_i_v_e_,_ _I_n_t_e_r_n_e_t_-_D_r_i_v_e_n_ _P_h_i_l_o_s_o_p_h_i_c_a_l_ _E_n_g_i_n_e_
has been accepted for presentation at the major academic conference, the
Inter-Symposium on the Electronic Arts (ISEA'96), September 18-20 in Rotterdam,
the Netherlands. (See http://www.eur.nl/ISEA96 and http://www.xs4all.nl/~isea)

The paper includes demonstration of the MathArt Visual Dictionary server at a
"release 1.0" state of development, which I intend to reach by September.

I would say that at the moment the system is at release 0.85. I am now doing a
major re-write and design tuning which within a few days will bring the system
to match the Dictionary schematic
(see http://www.wolfram.com/~mathart/dictionary/Dictionary_lorez.gif, less
the arrow to the right indicating links to "remote dictionaries").

The genetic (memetic) subsystem will be very primitive until closer to
September.

Once the current revisions are done, I will complete the client-server
implementation of the system, which is also at about 85% of the full capability
at the moment. When this is complete, development of the non-HTTP applications
based upon the dictionary server (and the links to "remote dictionaries")
should develop fairly rapidly. I have high confidence in reaching these goals
in terms of coding the working system by the time of the presentation.

Please let me know if you would like to review the paper. Thank you.

Now I not only need the telecommunication infrastructure to support development
of the Internet applications, I now need the resources to attend the Symposium
in Rotterdam and to make my presentation. The same telecommunication
infrastructure will support the Internet share-ware products I intend to
spin off from the Dictionary system, and thus should help the system to be
self-supporting some day. I own my hardware outright. What I need is my
telephone (ISDN) bill and upstream Internet provider paid for.

The same infrastructure will also support the Global 3-D FAX Art Event I am
coordinating at the 16th International Sculpture Conference June 6-8 in
Providence, Rhode Island (See http://www.wolfram.com/~mathart/3DFax).

The acceptance of my paper at a major theoretical conference, such as ISEA
(I presented at ISEA'92, Sydney, Australia) validates my work. I have spent
the past year attempting to gain economic validation for this work. Please
send me any recommendations you may have. Thank you.

Sincerely,

-Stewart Dickson (c) 1996
