Some question about Memetics

My name is Francesco Ianneo and I lives in Rome.
In this period I'm working on my PhD Thesis in Philosophy, exactly on Memetics.
However my problem is just to justify a possible ontology of memetics, at least in a philosophical sense. so I should wish to put some questions to memeticist experts:
1. Is it possible to claim that a complex system of memes exist as every adaptive and dynamic complex system in the reality?
2. If it's possible, can we define it as the self-governing _Noosphere_, the de chardinian/popperian World 3?
3. What's the place for human intentionality in this sphere of evolving ideas-memes?
4. Are these memes only _virus of the mind_ or something more complex?
5. Are the memes alive? In what sense?

I'd be happy to listen the opinions of Francis Heylighen, Hans-Cees Speel
and Onar Aam. Thanks!
