Thanks Simon,

Yes, good question! Roy, HOW is this issue of memesis useful for the
arts/artists??

Mightn't we talk about the future of the arts, rather than the future of
'evolution' as such? (Not much has been said about this "future of evolution"
as yet, anyway...)

For instance, ever since I made my acquaintance with personal computers 15
years ago, I've felt that the art of the future will tend to be predominantly
dynamic rather than static.
This would suggest a major, if not revolutionary, change from, let's say the
cave painting approach -with all its subsequent paintings on ceilings, walls
and other static two-dimensional surfaces.
My generation was brought up on static pictorial art but the newer
generations expect things to move, even if they have to make it do so
themselves. VR will also play a major role as will techniques we haven't even
dreamt of. But content remains the prime issue; content expressed in the
technology of the culture at the time of creation.
How do those memes help us with this?
