The 10th Prix Ars Electronica in 1996, organised by the ORF - Upper Austrian Regional Studio, attracted some 900 entries in the sections computer animation, music, interactive art and www. At the Gala 12 money prizes with a total value of ATS 1,25 million, donated by Siemens Nixdorf, will be awarded. The most coveted awards are the Golden Nicas, the international symbol and trophy of the electronic arts.
