The exhibition 'Get in Touch' showing projects of the Tangible Media Group (MIT Media Lab) and 'Cyberarts 2001' are the opening events of this year's Ars Electronica. In the evening you can participate in 'Paintball', an installation where the mobile phone plays the main part. After the Linzer Klangwolke the local underground invites to the TAKEOVER party. And from tomorrow, September 2, on this website will be taken over by the electrolobby.
The exhibition Get in Touch is one of the focus in the Ars Electronica Center. It showcases, among other features, a representative sampling of works by Hiroshi Ishii’s Tangible Media Group (MIT Medialab). In a lecture presentation, Hiroshi Ishii will elaborate on the scientific and artistic aspects of these works.
The Cyberarts 2001 exhibition (O.K Centrum für Gegenwartskunst) featuring the best works from all categories of Prix Ars Electronica 2001, provides a glimpse into the current state of the digital arts.
The installation Paintball using the cell phone as interface invites you to decide yourself what is art. So don't forget to bring your cell phone to the opening! This will be followed by an opening reception for invited guests in the Altes Rathaus.
At 9 pm the Donaupark is the scenery for the Klangwolke, Linz’s incomparable open-air experience - universal music featuring orchestra, soloists, ships, projections and fireworks.
And at the T.O.C. Takeover Campus Opening Party the professional amateurs will be presiding over the friendly takeover!

Die Ausstellung Get in Touch bildet heuer einen inhaltlichen Schwerpunkt im Ars Electronica Center. Unter der Motto 'Von der Harmonie der Welt - Harmonices Mundi' steht die diesjährige Linzer visualisierte Klangwolke im Donaupark um 21.00.
