Several publications are appearing on the occasion of the Festival Ars Electronica: the catalogue 'Takeover – who's doing the art of tomorrow' and 'Cyberarts 2001 - International Compendium Prix Ars Electronica', the documentation of the Prix Ars Electronica, as well as a CD, DVD and VHS of the categories Digital Musics and Computer Animation / Visual Effects.
The catalog being published in conjunction with Ars Electronica 2001, 'TAKEOVER - Who's doing the art of tomorrow', is a collection of exemplary elaborations and observations on the festival theme, theoretical texts by symposium speakers, and project documentations by a diverse selection of artists. The issue that is its centerpiece: Which constellations, what factors are determining the art of tomorrow, where it will happen, who will be doing it, and with whom? In contrast to prior years, the 2001 publication has not been divided into sections dedicated to theory and artistic practice; rather, it follows a thematic progression over the course of six chapters: Takeover - who's doing the art of tomorrow, Creators of Life, electrolobby, Engineers of Experience, Pixel Spaces and From Document to Event.
