He is covering the area of 'Politics' - and that for some good reason: He knows firsthand the difficulties of writing under oppressive conditions. He himself has gone from working under Nepal's previously heavy censorship to an atmosphere where there is considerable more room for public debate. He holds a masters degree in journalism from Columbia University (New York), and has worked in that city as a correspondent for the BBC World Service. He has directed an institute dedicated to the training of media professionals. He is now a publisher of several magazines and newspapers of the Himalmedia Group in Nepal. He is author of a media guide for journalists working in the age of globalization and of Dateline Earth: Journalism As If The Planet Mattered.
