Andrew Leonard (USA) is one of the nominating experts in this year's Prix Ars Electronica category 'Net Vision/Net Excellence'. He will suggest to the jury net projects in the field of media, especially new forms of e-journalism and e-publishing. Leonard is the senior technology correspondent at Salon.com, and has written for publications including Newsweek, New York Times Book Review, and Wired. He is author of Bots – the Origin of a new species where he examines the evolution of the automated programs that have become vital parts of the Net. In the moment he is in the process of writing the The Free Software Project - as a collaborative work in progress.

Er wird diejenigen Webprojekte der Jury vorschlagen, die in den Bereich Medien fallen, vor allem aber innovative Arbeiten im Bereich des E-Journalismus und E-Publishing.
