This year's Ars Electronica's 'Update' website is being edited by an international team of four editors: Timothy Druckrey (USA), Ingrid Fischer-Schreiber (A), Andreas Hirsch (A) and Gabriele Hofer (A).
Timothy Druckrey is a curator, writer, and editor. He lectures internationally about the social impact of electronic media, the transformation of representation, and communication in interactive and networked environments. His books include: Culture on the Brink: Ideologies of Technology, Iterations: The New Image, Electronic Culture: Technology and Visual Representation. He is Series Editor for Electronic Culture: History, Theory, Practice published by MIT Press. The first volume Ars Electronica: Facing the Future was published in Fall 1999, the second, net_condition: art and global media in Fall 2000. Tim will be covering the theoretical background of this year's topic and give practical examples for new artistic practices.
Ingrid Fischer-Schreiber is a translator, editor and online-editor. She is responsible for the coordination and the editing of the catalogues of Festival Ars Electronica (since 1996) and Prix Ars Electronica (since 1992). She has studied French and Chinese in Vienna and Beijing and is translating mainly books for German publishers in the area of media, philosophy, future developments and China-related topics. Ingrid is responsible for updates related to Prix Ars Electronica.
Andreas Hirsch does analysis, design and re-engineering of cultural systems. He is working for exhibitions, festivals, shows, cafés and on/offline media environments. He develops concepts, studies, stories and scenarios and works as consultant. Gabriele Hofer is responsible for Press & Public Relations at Ars Electronica Festival since 1997. She has studied History of Art and Communication Science. As a PhD student at the University of Salzburg and the University of Applied Arts Vienna she is currently concerned with architectural photography. Gabriele is responsible for programme related updates.

Ingrid Fischer-Schreiber ist Übersetzerin, Lektorin und Online-Editor und seit 1996 für die Koordination und das Lektorat der Kataloge des Festivals Ars Electronica und seit 1992 des Prix Ars Electronica verantwortlich. Sie hat in Wien und Beiing Französisch und Chinesisch studiert und übersetzt vor allem Sachbücher in den Bereichen Zukunftsfragen, Medien und China für deutsche Verlage.
Andreas Hirsch macht Analyse, Design und Re-Engineering kultureller Systeme. Seine Arbeit schlägt sich in Form von Ausstellungen, Festivals, Shows, Cafés und on/offline-Medien-Environments nieder. Er entwickelt Konzepte, Studien, Stories und Szenarien und ist als Consultant tätig. Andreas Hirsch wird ebenfalls über den theoretischen Hintergrund des 'Takeovers' schreiben und aktuelle Bespiele dieser neuen künstlerischen Praxis bringen. http://enterprise.electrolyte.net
Gabriele Hofer ist seit 1997 verantwortlich für Presse & Public Relations des Festivals Ars Electronica, hat Kunstgeschichte und Kommunikationswissenschaft studiert und befasst sich zur Zeit als Dissertantin an der Universität Salzburg und der Universität für Angewandte Kunst Wien mit Architekturfotografie der Moderne.
