TAKEOVER - Who's doing the art of tomorrow: Which factors are
determining the art of tomorrow, where will it happen, who is doing it
and with whom? These questions are the focus of Ars Electronica 2001.The significantly altered framework conditions that effect working as an artist and the impact of art in a world characterized by information and communications technologies have given rise to new forms of art and are increasingly shifting their presence beyond the conventional art world. In tracking this creativity burst, Ars Electronica will deal with the scenes, sites and protagonists of the art of tomorrow.
Gerfried Stocker and Dr. Christine Schöpf, the directors of Ars Electronica, will hold a press conference on Thursday, April 19, 2001, to present the TAKEOVER theme and to give a preview of the festival program.

TAKEOVER - Wer macht die Kunst von morgen: Welche Faktoren bestimmen die Kunst von morgen, wo wird sie stattfinden, wer wird sie machen und mit wem? Diese Fragen stehen im Zentrum der Ars Electronica 2001.
Die signifikant veränderten Rahmenbedingungen künstlerischen Arbeitens und Wirkens in einer von Informations- und Kommunikationstechniken geprägten Welt haben neue Formen der Kunst entstehen lassen und verlagern deren Präsenz zunehmend außerhalb des vertrauten Kunstbetriebs. Auf den Spuren dieser 'ausbrechenden Kreativität' wird sich die Ars Electronica mit den Schauplätzen und ProtagonistInnen der Kunst von morgen befassen.
Im Rahmen eines Pressegesprächs am 19. April 2001 präsentieren Gerfried Stocker und Dr. Christine Schöpf als Direktoren der Ars Electronica das Thema TAKEOVER und geben einen Vorausblick auf das Festivalprogramm.
