DE:BUG is a success story - but one that goes with a lot of enthusiasm instead of burning venture capital. The print magazine - founded in 1997 - has proven to be an important source of information and critical reflection on an interesting mix of topics between media, music and culture. Co-founder Mercedes Bunz also writes theory like her text on The man-machine-relationship - recently published in the book Sound Signatures - where she pleads for expanding media theory while looking at phenomena like Kraftwerk, Underground Resistance and Missy Elliott.
