Since the former category 'Computer Music' has been changed to 'Digital Musics' in 1999 this category of the Prix Ars Electronica is open to Electronica (like Drum'n Bass, Dub, Techno, Downtempo, Ambient, Breakbeat, Global, HipHop, Jazz, Noise, Mondo/Exotica, digital DJ-culture, etc.) as well as sound and media (like sonic sculpture, intermedia/sound driven visuals, performances, soundspace projects, installations, radio works, net-music, generative musics, etc.) and computer compositions (electroacoustic, acousmatic and experimental). All the entries will be judged by an expert jury according to the following criteria: aesthetics, originality, compelling conception, innovation in the special expression of sonic imagination, technique and quality of the presentation.
The winner of the Golden Nica will be awarded EUR 10.000, the winners of the two Distinctions EUR 5000 each. Entries must be submitted until April 7, 2001.
Seit die frühere Kategorie 'Computermusik' 1999 in 'Digital Musics' umformuliert wurde, ist diese Kategorie des Prix Ars Electronica offen für Electronica (z. B. Drum'n Bass, Dub, Techno, Downtempo, Ambient, Breakbeat, Global, HipHop, Jazz, Noise, Mondo/Exotica oder digitale DJ-Culture usw.), genauso aber auch für Sound- und Media-Projekte (Klangskulpturen, klanggesteuerte Performances, Klanglandschaften, Installationen, Radioarbeiten, Netz-Musik, generative Musik usw.) und Computerkompositionen (elektroakustische, akusmatische und experimentelle). Alle Einreichungen werden von einer internationalen Jury nach folgenden Gesichtspunkten beurteilt: Ästhetik, Originalität, überzeugende Konzeption, Innovation, Technik und Präsentationsqualität.
Die Goldene Nica ist mit EUR 10.000 dotiert, die beiden Auszeichnungen mit jeweils EUR 5000. Einreicheschluss ist der 7. April 2001.
