INFOWAR: the players
---------------------------------------------------------
ARS ELECTRONICA FESTIVAL 98
INFOWAR. information.macht.krieg
Linz, Austria, september 07 - 12

---------------------------------------------------------
it occurs to me that there are two INFOWAR's: one is in the world of
external media, and the other is in the internal world of information
management. the greatest challenge to most new users of email/internet is
learning to process ever-increasing amounts of incoming data. this may
be the most significant training one can have for INFOWAR.
unfortunately, most people see their relationship to media as a
one-directional phenomena: strictly as consumer. as we learn to
process more and more incoming information, we must also learn the
skills to distribute it. from forwarding email, to personal
listservs, to homepages, to webzines, the effective participant in the
INFOWAR will package and push out information on an ever larger scale.
it is possible to win the INFOWAR game... but you have to be a player!
