Joe Paradiso joined the MIT Media Laboratory in 1994, where he is now a principal research scientist directing the Responsive Environments Group. He has developed several low-power, wireless embedded sensor suites for the Media Lab's wearable computing and tangible interface research and directed HCI and sensor system engineering. He is Technology Director for the Things That Think Consortium and the winner of a 2000 Discover Magazine Award for Technical Innovation for his Expressive Footwear System.
