Has created numerous Internet companies including PSINet Japan, Digital Garage and Infoseek Japan. In 2001 the World Economic Forum chose him as one of the 100 “Global Leaders of Tomorrow” for 2002.

Author of science fiction novels and short stories; part of the “cyberpunk” movement. Part of the Dead Media Project about “dead” types of media; founder of the Viridian Design Movement about art and design, organized through Internet mailing lists.
