Haben wir hybride Sensibilitäten? Sowohl der Roboter als auch der Cyborg sind Hybride. Die Menschen verleihen ersterem ihren Geist und – in einer nach wie vor schwierigen Verbindung von Metall und Fleisch – letzterem ihren Körper. Die Technologien, die uns unterstützen, tendieren dazu, unsichtbar zu werden. Das Blog könnte die Seele des Cyborgs sein, eines Wesens, das aus Knoten im Netzwerk besteht. Indem wir unsere täglichen Begegnungen im Blog aufzeichnen, veröffentlichen wir uns selbst und vernetzen uns mit Gleichgesinnten. Im Gegensatz zum Schatten folgt die „digitale Persona“ uns nicht nur, sondern geht uns auch voraus, etwa wenn Menschen einander „googeln“, bevor sie sich treffen.
