OUT OF CONTROL
Ars Electronica '91 picked out the consequences of
technological progress, the aspect of the dangers
implicated in the increasing mechanization of life and the
getting-out-of-control of technological systems as its central themes.
During the festival, projects were launched dealing with global
and individual disasters, environmental damage and
natural disasters as a reaction to these developments.
"Out of Control" was not an aesthetically "beautiful" festival,
but aggressive, provocative, critical, disturbing.
