Iamascope
Iamascope - The Digitized Classic
Dispersing the world into sparkling details and peering into what resembles a surrealistic chamber of mirrors: the kaleidoscope has fascinated generation after generation during the almost 200 years since its invention by D. Brewster in 1816. Now, Sidney Fels has come up with a modern variation of what is inherently an interactive plaything of the faculties of perception.
As a combination of state-of-the-art computer, video, graphics, and audio technology, Iamascope creates a wondrous world of its own. When you enter the Iamascope, you have the impression of being within a chamber full of reflecting surfaces. A tonal backdrop is produced independently of movement and color within the space. Once you have attained a certain degree of familiarity with this highly colorful tonal world, you can begin to introduce more intentionality into your interaction with the Iamascope (I-am-a-scope). Also a fascinating experience for viewers.
