The Grammar of the Metallic
“The Grammar of the Metallic” deals with the processing of fragmentary sensory impressions into a complete entity. The ride in the elevator becomes an analogy of this mental process. During the ride, a scanned text is projected onto a complexly distorted surface and, in the process, is itself fragmented and distorted.
