The very best of Ars Electronica 1979 - actual
electrolobby - media ad hoc
The Lobby of the Brucknerhaus as the hub of the Festival—not an exhibition space but a setting for transient, process-oriented variants of digital art and an open forum in which to address and discuss current issues. The spotlight of attention is currently focused on artistic appropriation of and intervention into the frequency spectrums of distribution and communication technologies and the regulations governing them— e.g. radio, TV, telephone, the Internet and, most recently, WiFi and location based services. And the Prix Ars Electronica’s new are of emphasis—digital communities and commons—is also sure to assume a place in the spotlight at this year’s electrolobby.
