Imagine a crowd at a fireworks display. As the sky lights up, they gasp and groan with satisfaction. At first, the electroacous-tic transformations appear to be concerned with manipulating the acoustic impacts caused by the exploding fireworks. These materials are cleanly extracted from their original context and given their own space. While the listener concentrates on the dynamic energy of these textures, the role of the crowd changes subtly. By the end of the work the spectators react to the colours and impacts of totally abstract electro-acoustic sounds!
