Run Motherfucker Run
Marnix de Nijs – RMR_organisation (NL)

Do you dare to make your way across an eerie city by night, through deserted streets and intersections, down dark alleys and face-to-face with unexpected obstacles? Running on a real treadmill, you move through the cityscape projected onto the screen in front of you, all the while determining your own direction and speed. The distance you cover in the virtual city corresponds to the number of measured meters you run on the treadmill. This is interactive cinema that calls for full physical commitment.

Run Motherfucker Run is a project by Marnix de Nijs in co-operation with Reinier van Brummelen, Noud Heerkens and Boris Debackere – Software development:V2_lab (International Lab for the Unstable Media), Rotterdam NL – Producer: RMR_Organisation, Rotterdam NL
Co-producers: Productiehuis Rotterdam (Rotterdamse Schouwburg) (NL), V2_lab (International
Lab for the Unstable Media), Rotterdam (NL), ZKM / Institute for Visual Media, Karlsruhe (DE)

Prix Ars Electronica 2005, Honorary Mention Interactive Art
