In the wake of the restructuring of art academies into institutions of higher artistic education for media, this panel calls for yet another paradigm shift. After all, what is the point of the programmatic agendas of the new media if they are not fused with the coding of conceptual art and its critique of media, epistemology and ideology? What are the implications of this fusion for medial education, the globalization factor, spatial demands and curricula?
