Principles of Indeterminism
metamorph #1
Maki Namekawa (J)

Iannis Xenakis was a visionary composer and architect, whose artistic credo was "Principle of Indeterminism." His ideas are the leitmotiv of this unusual concert and performance event: an evening that begins in the 1950s and uses a compelling combination of live music and real-time graphics to point the way to the future of digital art.

The evening's program features intense sensory input dedicated to the principle of transformation and metamorphosis - from analog to electronic to digital sound; from orchestra to live electronics and digital sound synthesis; from composed to programmed music; from sound into image.
