Of principle interest here is not so much the fates of the various firms as individual ideas, motives and visions, and the participants’ career paths. Where did these people come from? What were their reasons for joining Internet start-ups? What conceptions did they have of the work, the sector, the market and their own chances of success? What are these people doing today?
