A clock that is a chronicle of its own history. In three concentric rings—the circular displays indicating hours, minutes and seconds—a video camera records what transpires in front of the clock. The result is a digital image which, through optical compression and expansion, reveals the patterns and details of recorded events at a variety of time scales. Movements in front of the camera become optical material for a highly aesthetic, dynamic object.
