The very best of Ars Electronica 1979 - actual
OMV Klangpark 2000
An essential characteristic of Ars Electronica and the Linzer Klangwolke-and one that has retained its importance to this day-is the principle of artistic intervention in public spaces. The 1999 experiment begun by artists like Michael Nyman to link up the digital, networked realms of the Internet with the real spaces of city life will be carried on by Klangpark 2000. An appropriate programmatic principle is the collaboration of internationally renowned composers representing different generations. Alexander Balanescu, Isabella Bordoni, Rupert Huber, Sergio Messina and others have been invited to explore this year"s project.
