Harvey
Verena Riedl, Michaela Hermann, Projektgruppe Harvey/A

Verena Riedl and her school- project group were awarded the Golden Nica in the category U 19 freestyle computing. Their computerized reading aid project was created especially for old or blind people, who are not able to read a written text. The program Harvey makes the reading of a written text, that was saved on a disc, possible. The school-computers were not equipped with sound cards, therefore the pupils designed the hardware themselves. As a base for the sound they used a beer mat, as a casing they used an old disk box, and an appropriate printer cable served for the connection to the PC- a convincing example of freestyle-computing.
