A beautifully designed and animated example of Japanese storytelling tradition. 2D Manga style transferred skillfully into 3D – pace, action and expressions just perfectly matching the storyline and drawing you irresistibly into the plot. A traditional Samurai drama with unexpected turnarounds and a dash of humor. Hopefully this teaser will become a film or a TV series – or even better, both! (Sabine Hirtes, member of the jury)
Moto Sakakibara (US) is the founder of Sprite Animation Studios in Los Angeles. As the President/CEO and Creative Director, he is directing the company’s first feature-film project, GON, along with overseeing the production of various original-content productions, such as Journey to the West and Monster Samurai. Moto previously worked for Square USA and Square Co. Ltd, where he co-directed Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.
