Prix Ars Electronica 2007 “Hybrid Art. Award of Distinction.”
The purpose of this machine is to create a reproduction of the human digestive system without reference to human physical features. The functions of the respective stages of digestion are mimicked, as it were, through the use of various different containers, each with its own particular chemical content. Common, everyday foodstuffs are fed into the machine. The mechanically-produced end product cannot be differentiated from actual human excrement even in laboratory tests.
