Prix Ars Electronica 2007 “Hybrid Art. Honorary Mention.”

Tabaimo (JP). Born in 1975, the young Ayako Tabata was given the nickname Tabaimo (meaning “Tabata’s little sister”) at an early age. In 1999, Tabaimo exhibited her undergraduate thesis work, Japanese Kitchen (1999) and was awarded the prestigious Kirin Contemporary Award, marking the beginning of her international career. In 2001, she was the youngest artist invited to participate in the Yokohama Triennale. Her work has been shown internationally in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the United States, the 2002 São Paolo Biennale, the 2006 Sydney Biennale, and most recently at the Cartier Foundation, Paris.
