Prix Ars Electronica 2007 “Hybrid Art. Award of Distinction.”
Wim Delvoye (BE), born in 1965. His works are hybrids, playing with the opposition between high and low, between contemporary art and pop culture, combining both craft and concept and have been on display at Documenta IX and the 1999 Venice Biennial. Various emanations of Cloaca were shown at the MuHKA (Antwerp, BE), Migros Museum (Zurich, CH), the Power Plant (Toronto, CA), New Museum (New York, USA), Musées de Bordeaux (FR), the Musée d’art Contemporain de Lyon (FR), Beijing &Taiwan – culminating in the presentation of Super Cloaca at the end of 2007.
