Masahiro Miwa / IAMAS (JP)
Prix Ars Electronica 2007 “Digital Musics. Golden Nica.”

Masahiro Miwa (JP), born in 1958. He studied composition at the National Academy of Art in Berlin and the Robert Schumann National Academy in Düsseldorf. In 1986 Miwa started teaching himself computer programming and he has since focused on algorithmic composition. Miwa has been the recipient of many awards for his music. In 1995 he was appointed as a lecturer at the Cologne Academy of Media Arts and since 2000 he has been professor at IAMAS (Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences) in Gifu, Japan.
