Vincent Elka / Emosmos (FR)
Prix Ars Electronica 2007 “Interactive Art. Honorary Mention.”

Based on the ability to recognize feelings, SHO(U)T reacts to the emotional content of messages conveyed to it by installation visitors. The machine analyzes and decodes visitor-generated information and sends back, via an onscreen
avatar, a variety of different scenarios created in advance by the artist. Three elements each play a role as protagonist/interpreter in this drama: the filmed figure on screen, the observer and the machine.
