Terminal Air
„Institute for Applied Autonomy“ in cooperation with Trevor Paglen

Based on exhaustive research, this installation portrays the CIA bureau entrusted with the administration of “extraordinary transfers” as a sort of travel agency that coordinates a complex network of independent contractors, leased equipment, corporate-shell affiliates.
Under investigation here are the practices of the US intelligence agency in dealing with arrested terror suspects being detained in secret prisons.

For example, displays show the takeoffs and landings of the aircraft used for the undeclared flights that transfer these prisoners. Material like invoices disposed of in apparently careless fashion or Post-its stuck on computer monitors provide additional details like prisoners’ names.
