The UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions came into force on March 18, 2007. Strengthening democracy, ensuring justice and protecting the diversity of cultural production from the incursions of purely market-driven economic mechanisms are a few of its declared objectives. Which measures can be implemented on the basis of the convention? What role does justice play with respect to gender in the private/public field of discourse? These and other questions will be discussed in the UNESCO Lounge.
