C-Leg®
Otto Bock Health Care GmbH

The C-Leg® developed by Otto Bock is the world’s first leg prosthesis with its own completely microprocessor-controlled knee joint. For the wearer, this means unprecedented freedom of movement.

Via constant measurement of the joint momentum, joint angle and joint angle speed, the prosthesis reacts instantaneously to changes in terrain, motion and walking speed, and makes possible a stable bearing as well as a natural gait. Additional security and comfort is provided by the wearer-activated Standing Mode. It stabilizes the C-Leg® without the wearer having to exert muscle power, as has previously been the case. A special Second Mode has also been developed for varied activities like cycling and cross-country skiing.
