FT and Manoi PF01 are Japanese robots that combine design artistry with leading-edge technology. Several details of their construction aim to counteract the cliché of robots as mere high-tech musclemen: big eyes and a broad forehead convey openness; the expansive chest radiates self-assurance. Whereas FT comes across as very feminine and elegant, Manoi PF01 gives the impression of strength and friendliness.
