Claude Chabot / Autour de Minuit (FR)
Prix Ars Electronica 2007 « COMPUTER ANIMATION / FILM/ VFX. Honorary Mention”

Apnée conceptually rethinks the entire concept of animation in a very clever way. The entire animation takes place in just a few discrete instants of time, thereby cleverly deconstructing and illuminating the relationship between the viewer and the narrative space in which a filmed story unfolds. (Ken Perlin, member of the jury)

Claude Chabot (FR), born in 1967, graduated from fine arts school in 1990. Since 1991 he has been working as a computer-graphics artist and visual effects supervisor with the major French visualeffects companies.
