After five years of presenting outstanding academic institutions in a so-called campus exhibition, the directors of the Ars Electronica Festival opted this year for an alternative proposal by HyperWerk HGK FHNW, the Swiss Institute for Postindustrial Design: Creating an international gathering of institutions around one important topic. Since this kind of collaborative and decentralized approach bears some astonishing points of similarity to the trends behind Web2.0, the former campus transformed itself into a campus2.0.
