The Finalists
By setting up personal homepages, the finalists create completely new personalities. Each individual can draw from a virtually inexhaustible reservoir of characteristics: age, gender, lifestyle, milieu—it can all be changed at will. The more intensively participants become occupied with the construction of their new selves, the more they fixate on certain aspects of their lives. The result: a slide into total obsession that can even lead to self-destruction.
