ACCESS
Marie Sester (F / USA)

An installation in public space on the subject of invisible surveillance. By means of a motion tracking system, a spotlight stalks passers-by without it being apparent how the ray of light is being steered. Through a specially developed loudspeaker—the Acoustic Beam Project—personal messages audible only to individuals in the spotlight are whispered in their ear. Via real-time video in the Internet, the user can select any person in the public space and control the spotlight; thus, anonymous individuals intervene in reality.
