Honorary Mention Prix Ars Electronica 1999 "Cybergeneration u19 - freestyle computing"
This computer animation shows a preliminary version of a very complicated and involved, roomsized alarm clock machine in the style of a mad inventor. Although the animation is not overly long, it was still a bit much for my old Pentium 120 to handle. Since the final scene used nearly 20 Mb just as a MAX file, contained 400 objects with over 100 materials and just this took three minutes to open in 3D-Studio MAX, I was under a lot of pressure for the last few days. If I hadn’t needed the computer for school every day, it would not have been a problem to just let it go through the rendering for a week, but as it was, I had a big problem.....
