The Tortoise and the Rabbit Patrick Toifl (AT) Honorary Mention Prix Ars Electronica 1999 "Cybergeneration u19 - freestyle computing"
Naturally the signs of the times have not completely passed me by, so after films like Toy Story, Antz and A Bug’s Life, I wanted to make a computer animation, too. ....To be honest, when I saw the finished version on video for the first time, I was shocked. Five months of work, about 10,000 shillings in costs – and the animation was not even five minutes long...Whew! But it really was fun. Modeling for three months, building scenes and finally animating them, rendering for several months...., then it took several more weeks for the music, several more days for the sound recording, and finally four days for the editing. ... I would especially like to thank Richard Mahr, whose music contributed significantly to the film’s effect.
