Ikue Mori moved to New York from Tokyo 1977, started playing drums, and formed the seminal New York No Wave band, DNA, with Arto Lindsay and Tim Wright, created a radical style of rhythm and noise, achieving legendary cult status in rock music. 1985 She started using drum machines in the unlikely world of improvisation.
