HONORARY MENTION
Espace / Escape
Francis Dhomont
Programs for 'shatterings' and for 'accumulations', written by Jean-François Allouis on SYTER; and those by Benedict Maillard at INA-GRM's Studio 123 in Paris have enabled me to obtain a very extensive spectro-morphological sound structure palette out of just a few original sounds. The piece 'E space/Escape' presented here is dominated by examination of the form: the game of the divergence and convergence of sounds, like using the space and establishing a relationship to it, with reference to the title 'Espace/Escape'. So for instance I used shattering and a space-sound program to bring about micro-fragmentation. Some structures and shapes were created on the Synclavier and have been modified in the analog as well as the digital domain.
